A fun night!

Yay, now I'm home after a really fun night out with a Swedish, F, and TJ from work, so much fun! Me and F started out at this vodka bar close to the beach and the YJ joined us after he finished work. I was planning on going home fairly early (around 10pm or so) but when the suggestion came up to go to another bar at 11.30, I was on it! I had so much fun! And now I juts have to worry about getting up at 7am tomorrow to go to work... *yawn*

I seriously did feel like something out of Star Trek when the doctor sent me home wearing this "portable EKG" with 7 sensors, a bunch of cables and a practical little monitor attached...Yaaay....

Doctor's visit

Tomorrow I'm finally going to the doctor to have my blood pressure thing checked out. I'm a little nervous but I'm sure it'll be ok (it'll be ok it'll be ok it'll be ok...)

2 years!

Yesterday was me and H's 2nd wedding anniversary! I can't believe
we've been married for 2 whole years and I still get butterflies when I think about him :) H took the day off from work and we went to the beach for a few hours.



In the evening he took me out to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant and then we finished off at Santa Monica Pier watching the sunset and listening to an outdoor concert, so romantic (yes I'm a sucker for romance!

The world is T-I-N-Y!

It's insane! Today at work, this Swedish-looking girl(yes, you can totally tell) comes in to try on a pair of jeans, I asked her where she was from and she said "Sweden" and after that we just started laughing and talking and it turns out she's best friend with my friend E who I had wine with when I was in Sweden a few weeks ago! We know the same people and she's from Molnlycke where I went to school! Besides everything we have in common, she actually seems like a really cool, nice girl and I really feel like I could use a little bit of home right now...

Simpsons hysteria!!!

Oh...my...god! If the Simpson family was big before, they're completely humongous right now! With just a couple of weeks left for the big opening, the yellow family is on everyone's lips and I for one, love it! First came the Kwik-E-Marts, then the official Springfield was voted on (turned out it's in Vermont of all places) and now, in a stroke of complete genius,
Harper's Bazaar are doing a spread starring Linda Evangelista guiding the Simpsons through Paris and have them meet some of the hottest designers today! I adore it!

Aaahh...

The beach was wonderful, it always amazes me how beautiful it is with all the palm trees and the perfect turquoise ocean! I was almost alone in "my spot" except for a camera team (they're always filming something or another at the beach) that also found that quiet part of the beach.

Finally sunny!

Ever since we got back from Sweden I've had 3 days off from work and they've all been kinda chilly and hazy, not exactly beach weather in other words, but today I woke up to 23 degrees and a clear blue sky! Time for Palisades beach :)

Transformers

So tonight me and H went to see Transformers. H had been watching the cartoon when he was a kid, and thus had high hopes for the movie, me on the other hand, having barely heard of Transformers except from my friends and co-workers that had seen the movie and they said it was "awesome!!!"
Well, it sucked b*lls to be quite honest! It was the cheesiest Americanized crap I've ever seen!

I can count the times I laughed on 1 hand (and that includes the times I laughed at what I thought were jokes about how they exaggerated the American patriotism, but a quick look around and I noticed a bunch of angry faces telling me it was certainly not a joke and America is awesome!) but I can't even count all the times that I rolled my eyes on both of my hands, it was ridiculous! With comments like "I would sacrifice myself to save this world" (in a robot-voice) and "You're a soldier now!" (in a time-to-save-your-country-and-be-a-military-hero-voice), I was begging for the end to come...*yuck*

Biggest craze!

I don't think anyone has missed the "I'm Not a Plastic Bag"-bag. This eco-friendly Anya Hindmarch creation is highly sought after all over the world, as cheap as it is (only $15!!!) it's completely sold out and if you're not a top celeb, it's impossible to get your hands on :(
On Ebay, the bids are climbing up to $500 and even the online guides on how to find one goes for a couple of hundred!!! So don't even bother with that...

Busy day!

Jeez, I'm so exhausted, 3 major celebs in one day is no piece of cake! First Paris and Nicky came in and shopped around for about an hour, Nicky was dressed really cute in white tank, black shorts, gladiator sandals and a huge Chanel bag. Paris had a green Fluet dress with a white blouse underneath, white pumps (the real 80's-Minnie-mouse type) and no makeup! She looked better without makeup than I would have expected...

And then, right before closing, a superblond Lindsay Lohan walks in (pretty fresh for being so soon after her 21st birthday bash), with 2 huge bodyguards and everyone had to stay and help. Needless to say, the paparazzi have been waiting outside work the entire day...

Something's not right...

...with Xtina's face! I know it's a bad angle but I'd say all that tanning and makeup is taking it's toll and she looks a lot older than she is. I'm also a little worried that she got new extensions (once again!), she has so many bald spots already and in combo with her frequent peroxide-treatments, it won't be long till she'll be forced to pull a Britney!

Again with the adoption...

Angelina has apparently "fallen in love" with a little Czech orphan boy in Prague, where she's currently filming her latest movie "Wanted", and wants to -gasp- adopt him! Who would have thought? So let me see, she's almost up to a junior soccer team:

Maddox, Cambodia
Zahara, Ethiopia
Pax, Vietnam
and of course little Shiloh

Oh and did I mention that if she adopts this little Czech kid, it'll be her 4th child in less than 2 years!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely aware that adoption is, most of the time, a really good way to help an orphan to a better life and give a childless person the joy of a kid BUT, I do think adoption could be a mistake sometimes and here's why:

Classic psychology: Angie recently lost her mom after a long illness, during which she adopted Pax and had Shiloh, and now she wants to adopt another one? Looks to me like somebody is missing the love her mom used to give her and is now trying to get love anywhere she can!
Also, she and Brad have been seen fighting a lot (yes I know all couples fight) for a looong time (we're talking like, at least a year!) and on top of that, they're on different continents most of the time and Brad doesn't really want to adopt another kid.

Does this sound like great environment you wanna throw another child into?

Honestly, in this case I think she's being selfish, I think she should work things out with Brad (see if they're even gonna work out at all...yes, there are rumours stirring in LA.) Then I think she should go see a therapist and work her own issues out, cause god knows she's got plenty of those!

3 days...

...in the same dress is just nasty! We finally got our luggage yesterday and let me tell you, switching clothes is just a blessing!

Oh F**K!!!

Our bags are still in freakin' Chicago!!! I don't know why (since we had plenty of time at that airport) but what I do know is, WE HAVE NOTHING!!! No clothes, no makeup, no shoes, absolutely nothing more than what we're wearing! SAS couldn't even tell me when our stuff will get here, I just pray it gets here soon.. or at all for that matter...*Gaaaaah!!!*

Sweden, here we come!

Ok, I'm not in general a big fan of reality shows (the weird faked drama creepes me out a little) but this seems just completely...what's the word...insane? Unnecessary? Dull as hell? Packing up!

Yes, only one day left until we fly out to Sweden!!! Last night I had a "Goodbye-Pinkberry" with my good friend T and just hung out for a while, I'm really gonna miss people but at the same time, I don't think I'll be able to focus on that to much since I'll be with my friends and family back home :) Man, I can't wait!

Are you serious??? I hardly think think that Nicole's 80 lb frame could bare a child (or even produce an egg for that matter!) Especially since she just dropped 15 pounds recently, not exactly the first sign of pregnancy. Not that I rely on National Enquirer as a truthful source but jeez...

Lindsey sober? Aha, whatever!

So there's been this huge commotion about Svedka Vokda sponsoring
La Lohan's 21st birthday bash. Why? Because Linds is in AA and is a sober alcoholic *Hrrm* ok, if you say so, but I've seen her out and about and let me put it this way, she is not exactly drinking water! Yes, she is officially still in AA (and I do appriciate her trying I do, my friend J is an alcoholic, tho sober for 9 months now and I've seen how hard it's been for him to quit), but she's still drinking, doing coke and smoking pot, I feel like she's only mocking AA!
For shaaaame...

Fred Segal is fun!

I love my job! For the last hour today, we had basically no customers and out of nowhere all of us just had a spontaneous dance-off to "Walk it out"! It's so good to work with fun people :D

Review

This is the mascara I've been using for the past 3 weeks or so, and it made so many promises I have to admit, I was more than a little sceptic at first...

It claims to: Lenghten, thicken, separate, curl and condition lashes extremely well and with no hassle. It's also said to never smudge or flake, not even when you take it off in the evening since it comes off in little tubes!

In real life it does: All of the above!!! It's crazy but it actually works in every way it claims, I love the smell and that it never smudges (you know like some other mascaras that smudge very finely underneath your eyes and make you look like you haven't slept in 2 weeks), and I found it works best if you apply it in layers for the ultimate dramatic-volume-yet-naturally-separated-effect, and since I got a discount on it (at work), I can't even complain about the price! Yay, 5 out of 5!

I finally did it......

... after my good friend J nagged me forever, I finally pulled myself together and watched RENT! And now I understand why he wanted me to watch it so bad, I love it, it's wonderful and sad and happy and I love it!

What a day!

Sorry I've been a little abscent from the blog this week, friday night really drained me and I'm still feeling a little lightheaded at night so I try not to sit by the computer too much.

Anyway, today I had a day off from work and I took the oppurtunity to go up to Hollywood and Melrose to do some gift-shopping :) First stop was my beloved
Marc by Marc Jacobs for some gifts, I also couldn't resist trying on these


in silver even tho I knew I wasn't gonna get them :( So cute tho!
Then up to the Kodak centre which is still one of my favorite places to go in the city! Yes, I could do without all the turists and tourguides that are constantly asking you to by tickets and shit, but the feeling of standing upstairs , looking at the Hollywood-sign just can't be beat!

Awful night!

Oh god, I had the most horrible night! It all started when I came home from work and begun to feel a little lightheaded, oh well, no big deal, I ate dinner and watched some TV to get rid of it and when it didn't I just decided to go to bed, then it got really bad. My blood pressure crashed instantly, my mouth and throat got all numb, everything started spinning really fast and I blacked out a few times and I felt like I was about to die!

For those of you who have read my blog for a while, you know that this isn't the first time this happens to me, I hate having low blood pressure!
Anyone have any tips on what you can do when this happens? Or prevent it completely?
